A “Mini-Spoiler” About Adam’s Journey

I freely admit to a bit of writer’s block on this one. The story, I think, needs to be told, because it’s an interesting one.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD. DON’T READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED CONVERGENCE!!!

LAST CHANCE TO AVOID SPOILERS!

At the end of Convergence, Adam emerged from the forest around Will and Hope’s house during the birthday party, carrying a woman identified as Genevieve, Hope’s mother, a woman known dead since before Will and Hope met back in eleventh century England. When Will wonders how, Adam mouths the word “detour” which explains at least *when* Adam retrieved Will’s supposedly dead mother-in-law.

So, mini-spoilers.

No, Genevieve did not fake her death and live many centuries in hiding. Hope’s memory, and Eva’s, are both accurate in that she really did die.

(Some of you are nodding your head, already having figured out exactly how Genevieve is enjoying a steak dinner in the twenty-third century. Don’t overthink this one. 🙂 )

So here’s the mini-spoiler: Adam didn’t go back in time to rescue Genevieve. He had far more critical things to do. But when the opportunity arose to do a good deed for his half-sister, he, being the nice guy he is, did so.

So what did he *really* go back to do?

Well… you’ll have to read the book to find out. 🙂
